Heading to The Netherlands

We hung around Newcastle ‘Upon Tyne’ for a bit waiting for our ferry today. At the port of Newcastle there was this big outlet mall which meant BIG trouble for me and my wallet!!! The damn British Pound is sooooo deceiving – so many times now I’ve seen some really nice things for like 25 GBP and thought hey that’s nice and pretty cheap and then realized that it’s really like $55 CAD, but by that time I would’ve already have made up my mind of buying it!!! It would’ve been so much easier if things were priced really high so they wouldn’t even get my attention! Anyways I saw a bunch of nice shirts/sweaters that I liked and after realizing how much they were in Canadian dollars got a little scared off but still ended up buying most of them hahaha. After that we got on the ferry. It turns out this was no ordinary ferry ride though – it was an overnight cruise ship! The lady on the phone who booked it for me wasn’t lying when she said there was plenty to do on it hahahaha and the ferry was very cheap too so it was a win win situation! Peter and I had a really nice meal at one of the many restaurants on the ship. The place we went to had a buffet which featured unique dishes from all around the world. I managed to control myself and not eat to the point of dying but did eat a wee bit too much ice cream – it was soooooo good!!! After that I enjoyed the live music that was going on and afterwards there were some live dancing shows which were very fun to watch. The dancing group consisted of 4 girls and 1 guy and being the homophobe that I am, the guy who was dancing in his awkward costumes really made me feel uncomfortable hahahaha. But anyways it was still fun. After the dancing shows had ended the live music continued and a gang of middle aged women rushed to the dance floor. Now I have no problem with old ladies dancing or anything, seeing how I’ve been staying at Holiday Inn hotels for a while now and am used to being around old people BUT one of the ladies there had disturbing large implants and was dancing/fondling with ‘them’ in a way which I did not find funny at all (though many of the other people, including herself, did) -- it was actually quite appalling! Anyways after a little while I went over to the casino area and played some blackjack and let’s just say I lost more money than I had wanted to!!! But hey life goes on! I also went by the ‘night club’ on the ferry but felt VERY old on it so opted to not stay there too long hahaha. It’s funny how old I’ve felt sometimes in Europe considering I’m only 22! Anyways after listening to some more of the music I decided to call it a night. It was a little hard falling a sleep though cause I could hear car alarms going off every 5 seconds outside of our cabin!
