Walking through Liverpool and ferrying to Dublin!

So today was a day filled with LOTS of walking through Liverpool and a very LONG ferry ride to Dublin, Ireland. I started off by going to the maritime museum in Liverpool, which was pretty fun. They had an exposition on the whole titanic disaster and had lots of historical models of some of the more famous ships of the past. I actually learned a lot of things about the titanic and all the history surrounding it, that I hadn’t known before (stuff that Leonardo Dicaprio and Kate Winslet didn’t mention in the movie hahahaha). They also had a really good exhibit which talked about the shameful slave market that went on in Africa in the not so distant past. That was quite insightful as well. Anyways after going through there for a while, I walked around the streets of Liverpool for a long time. Liverpool doesn’t have a lot of ‘tourist attractions’ but the atmosphere here is pretty unique. It seems like everyone here is still living in the 80s hahaha BUT the stores (and their expensive prices) would make you think otherwise! The two main cathedrals (metropolitan cathedral and Liverpool cathedral) are unbelievably gigantic as well. The metropolitan cathedral is a HUGE circular building, while the Liverpool cathedral is an enormous castle-like construction. I sat in on the daily session at both of the churches, which was good. After that I continued to do some more shopping here and walked around the Albert Dock, which is the more famous tourist venue and actually where our hotel was as well! So there was a lot of walking that went on this day! Then I got ready and met up with Peter to head to the ferry for Dublin. As I had mentioned the ferry ride was 8 hours so we caught the 10 pm ferry and were on our way. One thing that was bad (in some ways!) was that the dinner on the ferry was a buffet-style serving and man did I ever eat all I could eat! I was ‘out of service’ for the next few hours hehehehe. I don’t what it is about me and buffets but I always seem to feel compelled to fill myself to the max, a very bad habit. Anyways then I went to sleep and was woken up again at 5 am to get ready to leave the ferry. We got out at around 6 pm and after getting lost (as usual) eventually made it to the hotel.
