We went to Edinburgh today and it was great! Our hotel was conveniently located next to the Edinburgh Zoo hahahaha and a short bus ride away from the city center. I don’t plan on going to the zoo here but I took the bus and started doing some sight seeing. Of course being the idiot I am I read my map the wrong way and wasted some time walking away from where I had wanted to go but I still managed to see many of the things I had hoped to see today. Surprisingly my favourite ‘attraction’ (though it’s not really one) was the Scottish Parliament buildings – they cool modern design really amazed me. Anyways I went to the Museum of Childhood, another place called ‘Our Dynamic Earth’, and did a bit of shopping. The atmosphere here is REALLY great and the people are really friendly…I also met a girl originally from Ottawa here which was nice. By the time I got to The Palace of Holyroodhouse it had closed so that kinda sucked and the lights on the path up the hill to Nelson Monument were off for some reason so it was completely dark and I decided to pass on that today as well. After that I met with Janine and one of her friends who was is here from Amsterdam, Lydia. We hung out for the rest of the night and it was very fun and we had a lot to talk about. Lydia is quite the character hahaha. Tomorrow I have sooooo much to see still: Edinburgh Caslte, Nelson Monument, and I wanna go on the “City of the Dead Haunted Graveyard Tour” – the warning commeent on the flyer for it (Warning: can cause genuine distress) really has my hopes high so it better be GREAT hehehehehe.
