Another day in Paris!

Today was a super busy day. First off I took the car to a Peugeot dealer to get it fixed. Now that I’ve come forth and posted some more close up pictures you can see that there was a little more damage than just a couple plastics here and there, so I might have been a little misleading in my previous posts but I did that just so no one would get worried about me (like my mommy!). The car was still drivable but not in the greatest condition, that’s for sure. Anywho no one at the dealership seemed to be able to speak English so I muddled a few phrases in French here and there. Eventually a very nice lady who spoke some English came to help out. Eventually the service guys figured out what I wanted to do and we got in touch with Peugeot Sodoxa (leasing division of Peugeot Corp.) and worked out the repair procedures. But there was one problem it would take 2 weeks to repair the car!!! Now obviously I’d love to stay in Paris for a longer time but for this trip that was definitively out of the question. After a little bit of cunning communication (I must say!) though I was able to convince Sodoxa to give me a new car (same model) at no extra cost! So that was great!!! We still had minor details to work out like the seats for this car which are in Rome, when the car would be ready and where, and all the other paper work BUT we’re getting a new car, which even though this has only gone 7500 km that’s still a good thing! Most likely we’ll have a rental for the remainder of our time in Paris and then move to our new car in Calais or London. Anyways so the car situation was taken care of! By this time half the day had passed, so I after dropping off stuff that I emptied from the car at the hotel, I hopped on the subway and headed to some cites. I went to the Cathedral Notre Dame (which was really nice!) and then eventually got completely lost! Paris is unbelievable overwhelming and honestly every road has like some beautiful monument to look at. I came across some more monuments and eventually gave up and took the nearest subway towards the Louvre Palace and Museum. I’ve gotta mention though that Paris’ subway system is magnitude more sophisticated than Toronto’s and though it can be hard to figure out where to get off and where to switch lines, you can pretty much get to anywhere you want within a very close proximity. Anyways eventually I made it near the Louvre and was shocked at how big it was! Like I’ve heard many stories about how no normal person can tour the whole Louvre BUT this place is crazy! When I walked into the lobby there were hoards of tourists walking around and of course a huge gang of Japanese tourists hehehe (it’ funny cause they stick out so much, don’t get me wrong though I love the Japanese, it’s just funny) BUT I had no idea it was this big. I picked up a map of the museum and realized that there was no point in me even bothering to go into it right now…so I didn’t. By this time it was getting kinda late so I met up with Peter for dinner. After that we headed back to the hotel to do some work and then I spent some time in the hotel’s whirlpool which was quite relaxing. And there you go another day done. I still want to revisit the Eiffel Tower and have to go to a bunch of other places still (so much to do!!!) BUT tomorrow I think Peter and I are gonna go to Euro Disney Land, we’ll see how things pan out tomorrow though. Anyways I guess that sums up the day.
