The drive to Paris was surprisingly easy today, though the roads were of course very congested. When we got to the hotel we cleared out everything from the car because we’re planning on having it repaired at a Peugeot dealer here. That was a little bit annoying but we got it done…but by the time we finished doing that it was too late and the dealer had already closed, so we’ll have to wait until tomorrow to take the car in. Anyways, after that we decided to get a glimpse of Paris. We decided to buy a week long subway pass as a means of getting around this most magnificent city! The subways here are actually incredibly comprehensive and pretty much cover everywhere in downtown. The different routes and switching points can get a little confusing though. We eventually got on the subway and were on our way to visit the Arc de Triomphe. And man was it ever nice! However, this is one place I will DEFINITELY try to AVOID driving in. It was CRAZY how many cars and intersections that meet at this place. Some may view it as complete automotive chaos hahahaha. To get to the center of the Arc you actually have to go underground because crossing the street here is not possible with all the cars. Anyways we crossed underground and looked around there for a while. After that we went back on the subway, heading to see the Eiffel tower. At this point it was quite dark, which was actually kinda good because the tower was lit up majestically. There were also intermittent flashing lights that would go on occasionally on the whole tower. Anyways it was VERY nice and we spent a far bit of time looking around it. We opted not to go up the tower today and wait till tomorrow of the next day. After that we went to go eat and then did some more cite seeing around Paris. We looked at the Opera building in Paris and then went to a church named the Place de Madeline. Inside the church there was actually a concert going on with a fully orchestra and we stayed there to listen to the soothing music until the end of the show. It was actually very calming and a great experience. I made a donation to the church with all the loose change I had and lit and candle there too. After that we took the subway back to the hotel as it was getting quite late. Overall the day was very fun and hopefully there will be more enjoyable days like this one in the future. Tomorrow I’m gonna do as much cite seeing of this GREAT place as I can!
